Training Contracts

Bermans is committed to the future of the profession and each year takes on trainee solicitors in both our Liverpool and Manchester offices.

We currently provides routes to qualification via both the LPC and the SQE (QWE).

We always try to retain our trainees following qualification, and several of our partners and solicitors/associates are in fact former trainees.

The application process for our September 2026 intake of Trainee Solicitors is now open. We anticipate offering seven training contracts in total across our offices in Liverpool and Manchester.

Applications are subject to the following eligibility criteria:

• A class 2:1 (or better) undergraduate degree from a reputable university. A degree in Law is preferred, but degrees in other subjects followed by a conversion course may be considered.
• Candidates need to have successfully completed the academic element of their qualification (i.e. LPC or SQE1) prior to commencing their training contract.

Because of the volume of applications that we are receiving for the 2026 intake, it will not be possible for us to respond to each application individually. Applicants who are selected to proceed to the interview stage will be notified by the end of February.
